The editor of the books, Ymer Avdiu, described them as unique, noting that they include direct interviews from the field.

Meanwhile, author Latif Mehmeti said his work said fieldwork has been very challenging and that there were moments when they considered withdrawing from it.

“My work in the association for missing persons and war victims in Podujeva started during the war, and the result of my 27 years of work is the publication of these two books. Fieldwork has been very challenging; there were moments when we wanted to withdraw from fieldwork,” he said.

He also stated that the books contain accounts of war-related crimes and atrocities against civilians during the conflict in Kosovo.
