Prishtina Mayor Përparim Rama has presented singer Yll Limani with a certificate of appreciation for his contribution to promoting Albanian music.
The recognition comes just hours before the concert that the singer will hold on the outskirts of the capital.
Following the ceremony, at a press conference, the Mayor of Prishtina introduced the singer as an icon of the capital, Kosovo and all Albanians. He said the public will enjoy the artist’s performance over two nights in Prishtina.
“I am pleased to introduce Yll Limani, an icon of the capital, Kosovo and all Albanians. Tonight and tomorrow, we will enjoy the star’s performances in our capital. Thank you! Welcome, it is a pleasure to have you here,” Rama said.
Meanwhile, Yll Limani said he was experiencing excitement and stress ahead of the concert, while thanking the organizers for the invitation. He said he was happy to perform for the public and promised two evenings filled with music.
“Stress, anxiety, emotions—you name it. You never really get used to it. Thank you for welcoming us. Without you, we could not have organized this, both today and tomorrow. We will enjoy a lot of music. Yes, this is the perfect time for music. When you think of Yll Limani, you don’t think of the beach or the sun,” Limani said.
Limani also announced surprises during the concert.
“The finale of the second phase of the tour will be a truly fantastic finale, with plenty of surprises,” he said.
Asked by the mayor which song he would choose to represent Kosovo at Eurovision, he named the songs “Ajr” and “Lshoja Zanin.”
Due to the concerts being held today and tomorrow, police have advised citizens traveling between Prishtina and Skopje and vice versa to avoid the Prishtina-Ferizaj highway from 4:00 p.m. and use the “Arbën Xhaferi” Motorway instead.
