Today marks the 58th attempt to constitute the Assembly of Kosovo

The elected deputies will meet today in the continuation of the constitutive session, starting at 11:00 a.m. This is the fourth session after the decision of the Constitutional Court, according to which the candidate for Speaker of the Assembly may be nominated only three times, and the voting process must be conducted openly.

In the continuation of the August 24 session, political parties in the Assembly failed to constitute the ninth legislature, thus prolonging the political deadlock in the country.

The two candidates proposed by Vetëvendosje Movement, Arbërie Nagavci and Dimal Basha, failed to secure the required 61 votes, reports KosovaPress.

Political parties have continued to blame each other for the failure to constitute the Assembly of Kosovo.

It should be recalled that the parliamentary elections in Kosovo were held on February 9. So far, 57 sessions have been held for the constitution of the new Assembly, and today’s is the 58th.

The Constitutional Court published on Monday the full judgment regarding the constitution of the ninth legislature within 30 days, a deadline which expires on September 18.
