Hearings in the case against Hashim Thaci and others “for obstruction of justice” to be held from May 11 to 15

Kosovo Specialist Chambers announced that hearings in the case against Hashim Thaci and others regarding allegations of offenses against the administration of justice have been scheduled for the period from May 11 to 15.

Regarding the case related to obstruction of justice, Bashkim Smakaj, Fadil Fazliu, and Isni Kilaj were arrested on December 5, 2024, in Kosovo and transferred to the detention facility in The Hague on December 6, 2024, based on a confirmed indictment and arrest warrants issued by the court in The Hague.

Meanwhile, according to the announcement by the Specialist Chambers, Thaci was served with the arrest warrant at the detention facility in The Hague on December 5, 2024.

Hajredin Kuci was served with the confirmed indictment and a summons to appear before the pre-trial judge for his initial appearance on December 9.

According to the indictment, Thaci, individually and through joint actions with the groups — the Fazliu Group (Fadil Fazliu and Fahri Fazliu), the Smakaj Group (Bashkim Smakaj, Blerim Shala, and Artan Behrami), as well as the Kilaj Group (Isni Kilaj and Vllaznim Kryeziu) — allegedly pursued a pattern of conduct aimed at obstructing officials in the performance of their official duties.
