The Social Democratic Initiative (Nisma Socialdemokrate) will respond positively to any invitation from the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV) to discuss the formation of the new government, reports KosovaPress.
With twelve days remaining for Vetëvendosje, as the winning party in the February 9 elections, to form the government, Nisma MP Xhevahire Izmaku told KosovaPress that her party “has a political responsibility and there is no reason not to sit at the discussion table with LVV.”
She emphasized that if the formation of the new government depends solely on Nisma’s three votes, “then, in relation to the creation of new institutions, there will be no conditions.”
However, Izmaku highlighted the need to “clarify the position of the Speaker of the Assembly,” since, according to her, the legislative body should not function with a figure who has caused division.
Vetëvendosje leader Albin Kurti was appointed as prime minister by President Vjosa Osmani on October 11.
Kurti stated yesterday that during this weekend, and after the analysis of the local elections, he will begin talks on the formation of the new government.
