Abdixhiku responds to Kurti’s invitation: We will talk after the Constitutional Court’s verdict

The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has responded to Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s invitation for a meeting.

He stated that he informed the leader of LVV that he will respond positively to the invitation on the first day after the Constitutional Court’s verdict.

According to him, the issue of electing the president is currently under review by the Constitutional Court, and political timing is paused until the Court makes its decision.

“I thanked the leader of Lëvizja Vetëvendosje, Kurti, for the invitation to discuss the issue of the President. I informed him that I will respond positively to this invitation on the first day after the Constitutional Court’s verdict. Since the matter of electing the President is already under the Court’s review, we must understand that our political time is temporarily paused, while the time of constitutional review takes its course independently. By respecting this order, without parallel political processes, we honor not only ourselves but also the Republic and the institutions that have been built with great effort. The Court’s verdict must be awaited with full institutional respect and political calm. One hour after the verdict, we can meet again,” he wrote on Facebook.

Kurti announced today that he has sent invitations to opposition parties for a meeting regarding the election of the president.
