Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti was asked about the conditions at the main camp of the elite units of the Kosovo Police, “Enver Zymberi,” in the northern part of the country.
He told the media that the Kosovo Police and the Ministry of Internal Affairs are responsible for responding. This week, footage was published and reports highlighted poor conditions inside the camp.
“It’s true that it’s been many months since I last visited the Enver Zymberi camp, but the answer to your question should come from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, specifically the Kosovo Police. And if they haven’t done it or don’t do it, I will make sure that you get an answer this afternoon,” Kurti said.
Health Minister Arben Vitia was also asked whether inspections had been carried out.
“I haven’t seen the footage, but I repeat, as the Prime Minister said, this is a question that should be addressed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Kosovo Police, and whatever is needed… I’m not at a press conference to comment, you are asking me about something that is not under my jurisdiction,” he said.
This week, footage was released and reports highlighted poor conditions within the camp.
