Faton Klinaku and Nuredin Selmani have pleaded not guilty to threatening the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti.
In the reading of the indictment, the special prosecutor, Bekim Kodraliu, said that Faton Klinaku seriously and publicly threatened Prime Minister Albin Kurti in 2023.
Also for the defendant Nuredin Selmani, the special prosecutor said that he "seriously and publicly threatened [Kurti]" through the social network Facebook.
After the initial hearing, the defendant Faton Klinaku said that he will file a request to dismiss the indictment. He said that he has not committed any criminal offense, as he is accused of threatening the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti.“It’s good that it was a confrontation because you know that I myself requested that confrontation, you know that I myself requested that confrontation. As for the indictment, I consider that there is no criminal offense. And my post that has been repeated still appears, two years ago that I posted on Facebook and I will not remove it because there is no criminal offense. We have fought as members of the UÇK, we have fought to have the state, to have our justice system, therefore it is the obligation of every citizen to answer... The judicial process will now continue, through the lawyer we will make the request to dismiss the indictment”, said Klinaku.
Meanwhile, the other defendant, Nuredin Selmani, who pleaded not guilty before the trial panel, said "Albin Kurti should not be afraid of me".
