Kosovo police officers are the oldest in the region, so the adoption of the law on early retirement is seen as necessary by the Kosovo Police Union. The Kosovo Police Union says that the adoption of this law is delayed, as the promises were that the law would be finalized. With the adoption of the law on early retirement, every police officer who turns 55 will go to early retirement, while he is expected to receive 60 percent of his salary as a pension. Meanwhile, 528 police officers with chronic diseases are being forced to go to work. The President of the KP Union, Imer Zeqiri, stated for KosovaPress, that the law on early retirement is necessary and should be processed at all costs this year.
