The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for June 2026, showing that annual inflation reached 6.0 percent, while a monthly decline of 0.1 percent was recorded.
According to KAS, the annual increase in prices was mainly driven by higher costs in transport, which rose by 13.7 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 11.1 percent, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics by 5.1 percent, restaurants and accommodation services by 4.5 percent, and healthcare by 4.1 percent.
Meanwhile, an annual decrease in prices was recorded only in education services, which fell by 0.6 percent.
Compared with May, the consumer price index recorded an average decrease of 0.1 percent. This was mainly influenced by a 0.6 percent decline in the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as a 0.3 percent decrease in housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels.KAS said the publication was prepared using the new COICOP 2018 classification, with the base year 2025=100 and an updated methodology.
