The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo has considered Serbia's statement regarding the recognition of Kosovo's independence by the African country – Kenya, on March 26, 2025, as concerning.
The Ministry stated that Serbia has no interest in normalizing relations with Kosovo, which is confirmed by its statement from yesterday. On Wednesday, Kenya recognized Kosovo's independence, becoming the 118th country to do so.
"Once again, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Serbia have revealed their true face by showing once again that they have no interest in normalizing relations with Kosovo. Their latest statement in response to the sovereign decision of the Republic of Kenya to recognize the Republic of Kosovo confirms that Serbia continues to refuse the fulfillment of its commitments within the Dialogue for normalizing relations, facilitated by the EU," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo stated in a press release.
The Ministry said that Serbia continues its campaign of lies, manipulation, and propaganda against Kosovo, using every tool at its disposal to hinder Kosovo's path to full integration into international mechanisms.Furthermore, the Ministry stated that Serbia has no moral authority to lecture any country on, "let alone Kenya, a country that has recognized Kosovo in a fair and legal manner."
"What is even more concerning is that Serbia's statement contains a direct and alarming threat against Kosovo. By declaring that it will defend its ‘sovereignty and territorial integrity with the greatest determination,’ Serbia is signaling again its readiness for aggression," said the MFAK.
