For the 40th time, the constitution of the ninth legislature of the Assembly of Kosovo has failed. The continuation of this session failed due to a lack of quorum for voting on the commission that enables a secret ballot.
There were 100 members of parliament present in the hall, where the chair of the constitutive session, Avni Dehari, invited political parties to propose names for the commission.
“Chair, we are calling on you once again to respect the constitution, return to the agenda and respect the ruling.”
Dehari: “Please, only proposals. Control room, cut the microphone.”Jashari: “Don’t cut it off, she has the right to speak.”
Dehari: “Control room, please cut the microphone,” they said.
Dehari did not allow the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo MP, Time Kadrijaj, to speak either.
Dehari: “Only proposals, nothing else. Just propose.”
Kadrijaj: “We have a name for the commission and we propose MP Albin Kurti for the commission,” she said.
Dehari continued the session by putting the commission for secret voting to a vote, which did not receive the necessary votes.
Last week, the Constitutional Court issued a decision stating that the ninth legislature has one month to constitute itself – by electing the speaker and deputy speakers. /Sh. Pajaziti
