Patrol units of the Rapid Intervention Unit of the Kosovo Police, within the Border Department, have prevented a smuggling case involving goods in the northern part of the country.

According to the police, the incident occurred on April 16, 2026, at around 20:05, on an illegal road between the villages of Beluqe and Rvatska in Leposaviq, where a vehicle driven by P.S. (born 2002) was stopped while transporting various goods suspected of being smuggled from the territory of Serbia.

During the inspection, 38 packages containing a total of 760 bottles of alcoholic beverages (beer), as well as two packages of drinks and two packages of wafers, were found and confiscated.

With the authorization of the state prosecutor, a case has been initiated for “unauthorised crossing of the border line,” while the vehicle and seized goods have been sent to the customs terminal in Mitrovica for further procedures by Kosovo Customs.

The suspect was released after being interviewed, while the case remains under regular procedure.
