The Tax Administration of Kosovo (TAK) has called on all individuals who generate income from renting apartments, houses, or other properties, including through electronic platforms such as Airbnb and similar platforms, to declare these incomes and fulfill their tax obligations in accordance with the applicable legislation, KosovaPress reports.
TAK announced that, as part of its activities to identify the informal economy, it has analyzed available data and information and found that a number of individuals have generated income from property rentals without being registered with TAK, without declaring their income, and without paying their tax obligations.
TAK emphasized that it possesses information and evidence enabling the identification of individuals who earn income from property rentals. If obligations are not fulfilled voluntarily, the administration warned that it will undertake legal measures, including official registration, assessment of tax liabilities based on available data, charging interest and penalties, as well as other administrative and legal measures provided under tax legislation.
The Tax Administration of Kosovo reiterated its commitment to promoting voluntary compliance with tax obligations and ensuring equal treatment for all taxpayers. For additional information regarding registration, declaration, and tax payments, citizens can contact TAK through official channels or visit its offices.
