Kosovo's Central Election Commission (KQZ) has published the latest data on the counting process of votes cast from outside Kosovo, as well as the verification of suspected ballot packages received by mail.

KQZ spokesperson Valmir Elezi stated that the vote counting process at the Vote Counting and Results Centre is continuing for ballots from the 30 diplomatic missions, which began on the afternoon of June 11, 2026. According to him, as of Friday (June 12, 2026, 09:00), 13 out of 47 polling stations in diplomatic missions have been processed. On June 6, 2026, voting took place in 30 diplomatic missions across 18 different countries. Out of 27,724 registered voters, 22,860 voted, representing 82.46%. These ballots are currently being counted.

In parallel, the verification process for suspected ballot packages from postal voting is also ongoing at the Vote Counting and Results Centre. This process began on June 9 and concerns packages that have so far arrived in Kosovo.

By the end of June 11, around 42,000 packages had been processed for verification, of which 40,414 were approved and 1,447 were rejected. The most common reason for rejection was the absence of a registration confirmation slip, a unique document issued by the CEC to registered voters. In 1,320 cases, packages were rejected due to this missing document.

The KQZ emphasized that the verification process aims to confirm whether the packages were sent by registered voters. After its completion, the institution will publish the final number of valid ballot packages that will proceed to counting at the Vote Counting and Results Centre.

Meanwhile, on June 8, the collection process of postal ballot packages was completed. The ballots were retrieved from postal boxes in 22 countries, as well as from the CEC postal box in Kosovo. In total, more than 85,700 suspected ballot packages were collected from 23 postal boxes. During the registration period (May 6–17, 2026), 104,480 voters registered to vote by mail in the early elections for the Assembly of Kosovo.
