In the Europa League match between Celta de Vigo and Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade, which ended in a 1–1 draw and saw the Spanish side secure a place in the play-offs, a shameful act by fans drew the most attention.

During the match, a group of Celta supporters unfurled a banner depicting the map of Kosovo covered with the colors and symbols of the Serbian flag, delivering a political and provocative message inside the Serbian stadium.

The act was also accompanied by chants of “Kosovo is Serbia.”

It now remains to be seen whether UEFA will investigate or take disciplinary measures against the Spanish club over this provocation, although details of any potential sanctions have not yet been made clear.
