In the second round of the mayoral elections, expected to be held on November 9, the Central Election Commission (CEC) will update the voter list in those municipalities where the second round of elections will take place, as reported by KosovaPress.

The update of the data will be limited only to the inclusion of persons who turn 18 after the first round of elections and up to November 9, as well as the removal from the list of deceased persons and those who have renounced Kosovo citizenship.

According to the CEC spokesperson, Valmir Elezi, this matter is regulated by the CEC through the Electoral Regulation for the creation of the Voter List.

“In the second round of the elections, the same voter list used in the first round will be used, with some limited updates. Specifically, this list will be supplemented with persons who reach voting age from October 13 until November 9. Also, persons who have renounced Kosovo citizenship or who have passed away during this period will be removed from the list. Beyond these changes, no other updates will be reflected on this list,” Elezi explained.

Elezi clarified that internal movements of citizens between municipalities will not be included in the voter list.

“Internal movements of citizens between municipalities are not included in this update at this stage of the process. This means that citizens who have moved from one municipality to another after the first round will not be able to vote in the municipality where they have relocated, but only in the one where they were registered on the voter list in the first round. Therefore, the update of the voter list will reflect only these three aspects: the inclusion of persons who turn 18 by November 9, and the removal of deceased persons and those who have renounced Kosovo citizenship,” Elezi said.

So far, according to preliminary results, the second round of elections will be organized in 18 municipalities. According to the data from the first round, the number of citizens with the right to vote in the polling stations of these municipalities was 1,316,129 voters.
