Meanwhile, the New Kosovo Alliance in the local elections to be held in October will compete with the number 102.

The CEC Chair added that after the draw, the ballot paper design will also be approved, and on September 17 out-of-country voting will begin.

“This event has its own symbolism, it shows that we have entered the final phase of the electoral process which we have been preparing since mid-June. The procedure for the draw is completely transparent and guarantees equal treatment for all political entities. Elections are the foundation of a democracy, as through them citizens express their political will by electing representatives at both central and local level. In this regard, the CEC has the very important duty to ensure that electoral processes in Kosovo are free, fair, transparent, and based on the Constitution, the election law, and the highest international standards,” he emphasized.

The CEC Chair, Kreshnik Radoniqi, also stressed that today’s draw opens the way for the start of the election campaign from September 13.

“Today’s activity opens the way for 93 political entities and thousands of their candidates to officially begin the election campaign from September 13. The CEC calls on all political entities and candidates to commit to an electoral process by respecting the laws and electoral rules in force,” he said.

The campaign for next month’s elections begins on September 13 and ends before the opening of polling stations on October 12, at 06:59.
