The former presidents of Albania, Alfred Moisiu, Rexhep Meidani and Bamir Topi, as well as the former Albanian prime minister Pandeli Majko, accompanied by Behgjet Pacolli, begin their visit to The Hague. They will meet the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi, who are being held in the detention center.

This visit comes as an initiative of the head of the New Kosovo Alliance, Behgjet Pacolli, who had also invited the former presidents of Kosovo.

However, the former presidents of Kosovo, Fatmir Sejdiu and Atifete Jahjaga, did not join this visit.

The former leaders of the KLA have been in custody since November 2020 after the confirmation of the indictment with allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity, but the trial against them has not yet begun.

Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi have pleaded not guilty in their first appearances before the judge of the preliminary procedure.
