The Philately of the Post of Kosovo has released a new postage stamp issue under the Europe theme: “National Archaeological Discoveries – Ulpiana 2023,” today.

This stamp issue highlights one of the most important archaeological discoveries in Kosovo, located in the archaeological park of Ulpiana, as reported by KosovaPress.

The stamp designs feature images dedicated to the founding of Justiniana Secunda, described as urbs Dardaniae by Emperor Justinian and his wife Theodora (535–545 AD), as well as the houbara bustard (outis), a migratory bird, depicted in the mosaic floor of the episcopal basilica of Justiniana Secunda (535–545 AD), discovered by A. Hajdari, C.J. Goddard, and M. Berisha.

Meanwhile, the philatelic block presents a "Representation of a houbara bustard (outis), a migratory bird," next to a fountain on the mosaic floor of the episcopal basilica of Justiniana Secunda (535–545 AD), discovered by A. Hajdari, C.J. Goddard, and M. Berisha.

The realization of this stamp issue was made possible with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, while the visuals for this issue were provided by the discoverers themselves, as part of an inter-institutional collaboration with the Archaeological Institute of Kosovo, the University of Prishtina, and ENS.

The stamp issue consists of two postage stamps, a philatelic block, and a Zarfi i Ditës së Parë (ZDP - First Day Envelope), and will remain in postal circulation until fully consumed.
