In the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, today the trial began against the former member of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Pjetër Shala, who is charged with war crimes. In front of the trial panel, Shala once again pleaded not guilty, while calling the accusations read by the Specialist Prosecutor's Office slander. This office makes Shala responsible for arbitrary detention, cruel treatment, torture, illegal murder, which the prosecution claims happened in the period of May-June 1999 in the metal factory in Kukës.

At the opening of the trial, where the opening statement is expected to be made by the Specialist Prosecutor, the indictment was read to Shala, where, among other things, it was said that he is also charged as a physical perpetrator related to the crimes of arbitrary detention, cruel treatment, and torture...
