Petrit Hajdari casts his vote

The candidate for mayor of Drenas from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Petrit Hajdari, cast his vote today and called on all citizens who have not yet exercised their right to vote in the local elections to do so.

While voting at the “Rilindja” school in Dobroshec, Hajdari said that although voting takes only a few minutes, it carries great importance for the next four years.

Citizens of the Republic of Kosovo are exercising their constitutional right to vote today. These are the regular local elections, held across 38 municipalities of Kosovo.

According to data from the Central Election Commission (CEC), the number of citizens eligible to vote at polling centers is 2,069,098. Of these, 43,993 registered voters are from outside Kosovo.

Voting by mail began on September 17 and ended yesterday, October 11.

The total number of political entities certified to participate in these elections is 93, including: 32 political parties, 2 coalitions, 32 civic initiatives, and 27 independent candidates.

The total number of certified candidates representing these political entities is 5,624, of whom 205 are running for mayoral elections and 5,419 for municipal assembly elections.

Polling centers opened at 07:00 and will close at 19:00. This period is considered election silence.
