While the Kurti-Abdixhiku meeting was taking place, the leader of the LVV parliamentary group, Arbërie Nagavci, stated that Prime Minister Albin Kurti is doing everything possible to ensure that the country’s president is elected within the constitutional deadlines.

Speaking to the media, she emphasized the need for guarantees that there will be 80 votes in the ballot box when the president is elected.

“Prime Minister Albin Kurti is doing everything within his powers to ensure that we have a president within the constitutional deadlines and to avoid another round of elections,” she stressed.

When asked whether they would nominate Vjosa Osmani for a second term and for an assessment of her performance, she said this is not about performance evaluation but about the votes of the deputies.

“Technically, Lëvizja Vetëvendosje could have signatures for two candidates. Meanwhile, members of the Assembly can collect signatures for four candidates. We are interested in ensuring that our signatures serve the election of the candidate who will receive more than 80 votes in the Assembly… This is not about evaluating performance but about the votes of the deputies. We need to be sure that we have 80 votes in the ballot box,” she said.
