Mitrovica Prosecution orders suspension of ballot counting at the Municipal Counting Center
The Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica has ordered the temporary suspension of ballot counting at the Municipal Counting Center in Mitrovica, following reports of irregularities during the process.
According to the official announcement, commissioners halted their work after noticing discrepancies in the serial numbers of some ballots. Initially, these were suspected to be technical errors, but allegations of deliberate manipulation have also been raised.
“For these reasons, and in order to avoid any doubt, this order remains in effect until an official response is received from the economic operator that printed the ballots, confirming whether it is a technical error or a possible manipulation,” the Prosecution’s statement, issued on November 11, 2025, reads.
The suspension of the process comes during the counting of votes from the runoff election held on November 9, for the Mayor of South Mitrovica.
