A leading European provider of integrated business communications arrives in Kosovo. This Monday, German-based “NFON” opens Prishtina hub. By the end of the year, it plans to recruit 30 local professionals in the areas of Research & Development, Service & Support, Finance and HR. The new hub in Prishtina offers exciting career opportunities and an investment in talent, technology and growth.
This leading company is increasing its presence with an emerging technology hub in the capital.
“NFON” is headquartered in Germany. Established in 2007, it was one of the pioneers of what is called ‘cloud’ telephony, in other words the provision of voice communication services over the Internet as a service, as a software-as-a-service provider. We enjoyed significant growth last year. Last year, we had around 87 million Euros in revenue, and over 400 employees. We are happy to serve over 55,000 customers across Europe with over 670,000 users, and we do this indirectly, that is through partners. We have over 3,000 partners, and with these figures you can understand that we mainly serve the mid-market segment across a range of industries”, Andreas Wesselmann, Chief Technology Officer and Board Member at NFON, stated.
Young men and women from Kosovo will be offered golden career opportunities, with Wesselman adding that within the year 30 professionals will join the company.
“From our growth perspective, we looked for the best place. We are currently active primarily in Germany, but also in Austria, the United Kingdom, Italy, Portugal, and with some smaller branches in Spain and France, so we are involved all over Europe. We performed a careful analysis to find the best location if we want to grow both in talent and technology, with the ambition for a medium and long-term investment. It is not a short-term investment or just a support activity, it is a comprehensive commitment. We decided to invest in Kosovo. We made comparisons with other countries and locations and to us this was the best choice. This year alone we aim to recruit 30 professionals in different functions: in R&D, Service and Support, but also in Finance and HR, which shows that it is a comprehensive approach and not just a support function. We are convinced that with the dynamics we see in Kosovo and the commitment to technology and economic growth, this is the right place for us to grow”, he adds.
The new hub, which will officially open on Monday in Prishtina, will be fully integrated into the international structure, supported by targeted training.
“Recently, like in every other company, the global trend is towards artificial intelligence, and at the moment we are a leading European provider of integrated business communications that offers various products and services that use technology to helps us achieve seamless business communications. We provide voice bots, chat bots, voicemail transcription. If someone calls us on the phone, we have the opportunity to assist with artificial intelligence, to answer, to provide services to the customer, or if we are not available outside of hours or something like that, or all the lines are busy, the customer can go to voicemail to leave a message that is then converted to text and sent as email”, says Arben Zeka, who runs the office in Kosovo as Managing Director.
In Prishtina, the company is also aiming to provide an environment where young people can thrive.
“In Kosovo, the plan for this year is for part of the staff to be in software development. So, anyone who deals with software development and has experience, is welcome to follow us and see the competitions we have. Another part will be different departments, where we have people who will be part of the team that deal with customer support or part of finance, or part of human resources, where we have a colleague, or later other roles may emerge that can be attached to us in the marketing department or other services. However, the primary focus and most of the individuals will be engineers, whether network or software developers,” says Zeka.
CTO and “NFON” board member Andreas Wesselmann invites young people from Prishtina to join this leading company in the field of integrated business communications.
“From my perspective, it is a really very good opportunity, as I said, to learn quickly, to build modern knowledge in cloud technologies, in a company that has a strong European focus, where we want to give people responsibility and the feeling of working in a large team so that they feel part of a European company. I think this includes cultural, personal, growth and technological aspects, and for this reason we believe that we are a very attractive local opportunity, hopefully the best, and I am convinced of this. This is what we aim for”, he concludes.
