Whereas, the former Minister of Finance, Haki Shatri, emphasizes that there is information that there will be an increase in the salary coefficient, and predicts that with the revision of the budget, this salary increase can be made for electoral purposes. However, the opposition has criticized this opportunity for salary increases, calling it an electoral goal, although the ruling party says that it is natural to have a proposal from the Ministry of Finance for salary increases.
KosovaPress has asked the Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, whether there will be an increase in the coefficient in the public sector and about its value, but he has not confirmed whether there will be an increase in salaries. Murati says that citizens will be informed about everything in time by this institution.
However, he considers that if this increase happens, it is because of the votes.
Meanwhile, the opposition says that this increase in salaries can happen for the electoral campaign. The MP from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Ferat Shala, says that everything that is said now is because the election period is entering. On the other hand, reflection in this direction is also expected by the government itself. The Vetëvendosje MP, Armend Muja, says that it is natural to expect the Ministry of Finance to make a proposal for salary increases within the framework of the law.
Meanwhile, the president of the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce, Lulzim Rafuna, says that in the normal circumstances of any country, the salary increase is done at the beginning of the fiscal year, while underlining that this request from the KCC was made some time ago due to inflation.
