The Basic Prosecution Office in Prizren has requested a 30-day detention measure for three suspects in connection with the murder of a young man that occurred yesterday in the village of Kobaj, Prizren.
According to the Prosecution’s statement, pre-trial detention has been requested for suspect Sh. O., who is being held under a 48-hour detention order, on the well-founded suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “Aggravated Murder.” The same measure has also been requested for a minor, who is being held under a 24-hour detention order, on suspicion of having committed the offense of “Aggravated Murder” in co-perpetration.
According to the Prosecution’s request, Sh. O. and the minor, on 14 June 2026 in the village of Kobaj, acting jointly and intentionally, deprived the victim A. O. of life and endangered the life of the injured party I. O., allegedly incited by A. O., who is the mother of the defendants.
Preliminary investigations indicate that after a prior conflict caused by disagreements over the naming of a street in the neighborhood where they lived, the parties first engaged in a verbal dispute and then a physical confrontation. During the incident, sharp objects—knives—were used to attack the victims.The Basic Prosecution Office in Prizren stated that it remains committed to combating crime, strengthening the rule of law, and bringing persons who violate the law before justice.
Yesterday, as a result of injuries caused by a sharp object during a clash between two families in the village of Kobaj, Prizren, a 27-year-old man, Albian Osmanaj, lost his life. In addition to him, the victim’s father, around 57 years old, also sustained injuries.
