Kosovo's Assembly holds a minute of silence for academic Rexhep Qosja

Members of the Assembly of Kosovo held a minute of silence in honour of the life and work of Rexhep Qosja, following his passing.

Speaker of the Assembly Albulena Haxhiu said he was a prominent figure of Albanian thought and a tireless activist for the national cause.

“We have just received the sad news of the passing of the academic and intellectual Rexhep Qosja. Rexhep Qosja was a prominent figure of Albanian thought, a scholar, writer, and a tireless activist for the national cause. As a sign of respect and honour for his life and work, I invite you to observe a minute of silence,” she said.

Rexhep Qosja passed away today and has been laid to rest. According to a family announcement, the burial ceremony was held in the presence of close family members.

In accordance with the wishes of the deceased, no reception ceremony will be organised, and the family has stated that it will not participate in any institutional events.

The family has requested that their privacy be respected during this difficult time and that they be allowed to mourn in peace.
