The resignation of Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic is being considered to have been done only so that President Aleksandar Vucic could prolong his power and remove responsibility from himself. After the recent major protests in Belgrade, it is estimated that the only way to calm the protesters was for Vucevic to resign.

This is what Serbian journalist Radomir Dimic said in an interview with KosovaPress, for which he emphasizes that this move by the Serbian government will not "calm" the protesters.

He emphasizes that with the resignation of the Serbian Prime Minister, Vucevic wanted to "clear" himself of responsibility.

"After the biggest student protests that have been in Serbia since the time of Milosevic, when there were big protests and when Milosevic had no options but lto leave. Now we have protests that are probably even bigger than they were during the anti-Milosevic era in Belgrade and Serbia. The resignation of Prime Minister Vucevic today is not big news for me. Because when it comes to Aleksandar Vucic's politics, this was expected. He did it to calm the students. With Vucevic's resignation, he wanted to clear himself, to tell the students of Serbia, 'I am not to blame, but my collaborators'. He has been victimized... The power was entirely in the hands of Aleksandar Vucic, not Vucevic. This is a way to remove responsibility from himself and tell the protesters 'We have changes'. In order to prolong his mandate and his power," says Dimic.
