The Kosovar Electricity Supply Company (KESCO) has requested from the Energy Regulatory Office in Kosovo (ERO) an increase of over 20 percent in electricity tariffs for 2026, citing rising operational costs and the need to ensure a stable energy supply.

However, the ERO is expected to review this request and will decide whether to approve it or not.

According to the request submitted to the ERO, KESCO has asked for the allowed maximum revenue for the next year to be 528.78 million euros.

“After taking into account the expected expenses for the next year, the request for the allowed maximum revenue for 2026 is 528.78 million euros,” the request submitted to the Energy Regulator reads.

It should be recalled that in May 2025, the ERO had approved a 16.1 percent increase in tariffs compared to 2024.

In 2023, the ERO had approved a 15 percent increase in electricity prices.

In 2024, tariffs were reduced by 8 percent for household consumers using over 800 kilowatt-hours, and by 3 percent for commercial and industrial consumers.

Currently, the day tariff for consumers using up to 800 kWh is 9.05 cents/kWh, while the night tariff is 3.88 cents/kWh. For consumers exceeding the 800 kWh threshold, the night tariff is 7.28 cents, and the day tariff is 15.43 cents.
