Acting Minister of Justice, Donika Gërvalla, who is also chairwoman of the Guxo Party, has not commented on the latest statement by former Guxo MP Fatos Geci, who said, “on May 19 you are tied for life,” a remark directed at former President Hashim Thaci, who is currently on trial in The Hague.

She also did not distance herself when asked whether she shares the same view as her party colleague, but said that it was pointless and that she was there for the Administrative Court inauguration and would not open new topics.

Gërvalla made these comments after the inauguration of the Administrative Court.

“Do you know that we have come for the inauguration of the Administrative Court for other matters? Is it possible to ask the right questions in the right place… It’s pointless because we have come for the Administrative Court, we did not plan to open new topics,” she said.

Former MP from the ranks of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Fatos Geci, also made a comment regarding former President Hashim Thaçi in a written interview. His comment was: “It’s good that you are prepared, because on May 19 you are tied for life.”

A life sentence for Thaci was also previously wished by the former Guxo MP from the floor of the Kosovo Assembly, which caused a strong reaction and distancing from this statement by the Speaker of the Assembly, Albulena Haxhiu, as well as Vetëvendosje Movement MPs.
