Fire in Prizren, one-year-old child loses life
In Prizren, near the House of Culture, a major fire broke out in a building, resulting in the death of a one-year-old child.
The spokesperson for the Prizren Police, Shaqir Bytyqi, informed KosovaPress that three other children were also rescued and are receiving medical treatment.
“Today, on 30.12.2025, at around 10:00 AM, a fire was reported in a residential house in the city center of Prizren. As a result of the fire, a child approximately 1 year old lost their life, with it suspected that the death was caused by smoke inhalation. Three other children were rescued and taken to the Emergency Department, where they are receiving the necessary medical care,” he stated.
Bytyqi also noted that emergency units responded immediately and the fire has been almost completely contained.
Relevant teams continue to be present at the scene.
