Captain Brahim Shatrolli has been appointed as the commander of the Police in Lipjan.

This was confirmed to KosovaPress by the spokesperson of the Kosovo Police, Baki Kelani.

"Following the recent incident that occurred in Lipjan, the commander of the Police Station in Lipjan, Captain Argjend Gashi, requested to be relieved from his position as Station Commander, and his request was approved. Captain Brahim Shatrolli has been appointed as the new commander of the Police Station in Lipjan."

Earlier today, the commander of the Lipjan Police Station, Argjend Gashi, submitted a moral resignation from his position following the death of 27-year-old Agon Zejnullahu in Lipjan — a case in which five police officers are suspected to be involved.

Agon Zejnullahu died in the early hours of July 7 in Lipjan.

The hearing session for the five police officers suspected in the death of 27-year-old Agon Zejnullahu was held on Wednesday in Lipjan.

While investigations are ongoing, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has called for full transparency and institutional accountability.

The acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has also urged for swift and thorough investigations.

According to footage circulated in the media and on social networks, the deceased is seen with his hands tied.

The case has sparked widespread reactions, and a protest was held yesterday in Ferizaj, with others being announced.

According to the Institute of Forensic Medicine, there is still no official report on the cause of death of the 27-year-old.
