The acting Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, stated that KOSTT will take ownership of the plot in Sojevë, Ferizaj, where batteries with a capacity of 90 MWh will be installed for energy storage, as reported by KosovaPress.
According to her, with the signing of the agreement between the Ministry of Economy, the Municipality of Ferizaj, and KOSTT, work on the project will move forward within the framework of the compact program with MCC.
According to Rizvanolli, the Kosovo–US partnership is also delivering a concrete result: infrastructure that makes energy safer for citizens.
The MCC-Kosovo Compact aims to introduce an advanced energy storage system, laying the foundations for reliable, renewable energy sources that will be integrated into Kosovo’s grid, while reducing the need for coal-generated energy as well as expensive energy imports.
The $202 million Compact, together with a $34.7 million contribution from the Government of Kosovo, brings the total to $236.7 million.
