The Municipality of Shtime is getting a new kindergarten. In the village of Carralevë, within the premises of the “Abdullah Shabani” school, the inauguration marking the start of construction for a new kindergarten was held. This will be the sixth kindergarten in the Municipality of Shtime.
The event was attended by the Mayor of Shtime, Qemajl Aliu, the Minister of Education, Hajrulla Çeku, and former Minister of Education and Head of the Parliamentary Group of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Arbërie Nagavci.
According to Mayor Aliu, the kindergarten will be established by adapting a part of the existing school building, utilizing free spaces to save budget and increase the efficiency of the investment. The project is valued at approximately €176,000 and is planned to have a capacity for 40 children, with seven educational staff members employed.
“We are here at the start of the works for the kindergarten in the village of Carralevë, which will be an adaptation within the current school building because there is enough space to save the budget and maximize efficiency. We have identified the space to adapt the kindergarten. The investment is about €176,000, which will cover the kindergarten and the surrounding areas in the village of Muzeqi. It will have a capacity for 40 children. Seven staff members will be employed here, including educators and assistant educators. Finally, the village of Carralevë, along with the villages of Belincë, Pjetërshticë, and part of Zborc, will have preschool education properly addressed,” Aliu said.
Aliu added that this kindergarten is part of fulfilling the promise to build six kindergartens across the municipality, including two in the city and four in rural areas.
Minister of Education Hajrulla Çeku praised this investment as important for the future of children and for improving educational infrastructure.
“Today I am here together with former Minister and MP Arbërie Nagavci as a demonstration of the government’s continued institutional and political commitment to advancing important steps for modernizing infrastructure as part of the overall education quality reform. In this regard, the good work continues, it will be intensified, and we will come together again, but today we are here for this occasion. I hope the works continue according to schedule, are completed as soon as possible, and that the children in this area and the surrounding villages enjoy this new facility and the improved learning conditions,” Çeku said.
Meanwhile, former Minister Arbërie Nagavci emphasized the importance of institutional cooperation and the priority given to early childhood education at both central and local levels.
“What was a priority under the Kurti II government continues now with the same intensity under the Kurti III government. Minister Çeku, the entire government cabinet, and Prime Minister Kurti continue to prioritize the creation of new spaces and opportunities for our children. In cases like the Municipality of Shtime, where the mayor has been very proactive, as well as in Podujeva and other municipalities where mayors have been proactive and cooperative, our goal to include all children in early childhood education will be fully realized,” Nagavci said.
The kindergarten building will have a total of 490 square meters of space, where three classrooms will be organized for preschool-age children, creating better conditions for early education and development. According to plans, the construction works are expected to be completed by December 30 of this year.
