Government officials in acting capacity, Interior Minister Xhelal Svecla, Artane Rizvanolli and Dimal Basha, visited Zvecan today.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport announced that all public railway facilities and properties in northern Kosovo, which had previously been under the control of illegal parallel Serbian structures, have now been fully returned to the management of the public enterprise INFRAKOS.
According to the announcement, the operation was carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, and INFRAKOS, and is considered an important step in strengthening institutional order and extending state authority in the north of the country.
The ministry stated that the return of these properties is expected to accelerate the rehabilitation and modernization of railway infrastructure in that part of Kosovo.
It further added that the northern railway segment is considered a strategic part of Corridor X, which connects Kosovo with regional and international transport networks, increasing the country’s economic potential and infrastructural integration.
