Pristina Mayor Përparim Rama has brought the Democratic Party of Kosovo closer to his administration by appointing Besianë Musmurati as Deputy Mayor of the capital.
Rama made the announcement himself on Facebook, shortly after the Democratic League of Kosovo (PDK) denied having any agreement with PDK on joint governance in Pristina.
“We are starting a new political cooperation in the Capital also with the Democratic Party of Kosovo, with the aim of developing Pristina, for the good of its citizens and of Kosovo,” Rama wrote on Facebook, as reported by KosovaPress.
He pledged a form of governance that goes beyond party interests, saying they have made professional and human capacities available to implement strategic projects in the interest of citizens and the public good.
“From today, Besianë Musmurati is appointed Deputy Mayor of the Capital, bringing with her extensive institutional and international experience. With over a decade of engagement in fields such as diplomacy, public policy, and institutional management, she has contributed to advancing decision-making processes and representing Kosovo internationally. Her experience in the Capital, especially in leading Education, has left a mark in improving quality and creating better conditions for students and teachers,” Rama further wrote.
