One person has lost his life and another has been injured as a result of a shooting that occurred early this morning on “Vëllezërit Frashëri” Street in Gjakova, KosovaPress reports.
The police spokesperson for the Gjakova Region, Sheremet Elezaj, told KosovaPress that around 05:30 the police were notified of the incident, in which two adult males were shot with a firearm.
According to him, one of them died at the scene as a result of the injuries sustained, and his death was confirmed by the medical team.
“The other person was injured and was sent for medical treatment,” Elezaj said.
He added that the relevant police units immediately went to the scene, while the state prosecutor was also notified and arrived at the scene.
According to the police, the necessary investigative actions are currently being undertaken to arrest the suspect and fully clarify the circumstances of the case.
