Ahead of the meeting of the Presidency of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), party Presidency member Visar Azemi said there is no initiative to dismiss LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku.
“There is no dismissal of Abdixhiku or anyone else. We will discuss the latest election results and other topics,” Azemi briefly said.
Meanwhile, another member of the LDK Presidency, Sibel Halimi, said before the meeting that she had not signed the initiative seeking the removal of LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku.
She said the meeting will address the election results and the formation of institutions, while adding that other issues may also be discussed.
“I have not signed it. I believe responsibility should be taken by all sides within the LDK, and I believe that the engagement of only the LDK chairman is not enough. We have our agenda and we will discuss the issue of the election results, as well as matters related to the formation of institutions, and of course we will discuss many other issues concerning the party. This is not listed as the final item on the agenda, the last item is ‘miscellaneous’, and I believe we will discuss it there,” she said.
Several days ago, KosovaPress reported that signatures had started being collected within the Democratic League of Kosovo to request an extraordinary party assembly following the poor result in the recent elections.
KosovaPress sources within one of the LDK branches and among delegates who have already signed the initiative said that the number of signatures so far is around 150, while it is known that the LDK has a total of 355 delegates.
