Democratic League of Kosovo has initiated a call for an extraordinary session of the Assembly regarding the high price of fuel.
The head of the LDK Parliamentary Group, Jehona Lushaku, criticized the government for what she described as negligence in this regard.
“We have undertaken an initiative to hold an extraordinary session on the increase in fuel prices. This is a price that has affected the rise of all other prices and, as a result, we are facing a financial crisis, where every citizen and family is dealing with difficulties due to high inflation and fuel prices. In this case, we are in the process of collecting signatures and will propose a resolution that obliges the government to take immediate measures. We are concerned about the government’s approach and the lack of any action to ease the lives of citizens. There could have been implications in excise duties, a reduction of VAT, or any other measure,” Lushaku said.
Lushaku also spoke after the Presidency meeting about the election of the president, adding that the main responsibility for this process lies with Vetëvendosje Movement.
“We will be cooperative and take part in the dialogue. It is extremely important that at this stage Kosovo is provided with functional institutions and that the functionality of our state is not undermined at any moment. We will contribute as much as it is our responsibility, but the main responsibility lies with the largest party, which has the highest number of MPs and without which the president cannot be elected. If their will is to have a solution, we will have one; if not, Kosovo will have to head toward elections, for which LDK is united and unanimous,” she added.
