350 recruits join KSF, Kurti: our soldiers are unbreakable, territorial integrity untouchable

As of today, 350 new military recruits have joined the Kosovo Security Force (KSF). At the oath-taking ceremony for the second generation of recruits for 2025, state representatives emphasized that Kosovo’s soldiers are unbreakable and that the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are inviolable.

Despite the high temperatures across the country, families still gathered at the “Bill Clinton” sports hall in Ferizaj to witness the ceremony and support their loved ones.

Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that Kosovo’s army is rapidly developing into a fully capable professional force with a multiethnic composition.

“Our army is now more equipped than ever before with military arsenal, including some of the most modern weapon systems. Within two years, we expect the first state-owned munitions production factory to be operational. The Kosovo Army is progressing rapidly toward full development as a professional, multiethnic military force. You, dear recruits, are fulfilling the dream of all those who sacrificed for freedom. Built on the sacrifice of martyrs—led by the legendary commander Adem Jashari—and aligned with NATO doctrines, our army has reached the level of a professional, interoperable force alongside partner countries,” he said.

Kurti addressed the new recruits, saying that they have now mastered the foundations of military science.

He added that, professionally and logistically prepared, Kosovo’s soldiers are undefeated, while the state’s sovereignty remains untouchable and its territorial integrity unshakable.

As the world faces a range of threats, our state has deepened its cooperation with strategic allies and partners. In the face of any enemy or threat to peace and security, Kosovo is no longer defenseless—it is represented by a capable army full of young men and women who, like you, wear the uniform bearing the eagle symbol with unwavering pride. Professionally and logistically prepared, our soldiers are unbeatable and unbreakable, and our sovereignty and territorial integrity are inviolable,” Kurti stated.

Commander of Doctrine and Training, Jeton Dreshaj, said that from now on, the new recruits will serve to preserve peace and protect the country’s territorial integrity.

According to him, the newly sworn-in soldiers have successfully completed their basic military training with commitment and discipline.

“With dedication, courage, and discipline, they have successfully completed basic military training. Through this training, you have demonstrated your determination to serve your country and its people by contributing to peace, security, and the protection of our territorial integrity. You are now part of a modern force, increasingly prepared for the challenges of our time. From today, you wear not only the KSF uniform but also carry the trust of an entire people who expect professionalism, ethics, and dedication from you,” he said.

Kosovo Security Force recruit Erion Musliu said the country’s past inspired him to join the army.

“It feels great. A soldier’s life is a good life, and our mission is to move forward. The reason I applied to join the KSF is the history and past of my country. For this uniform we wear, many before us have shed their blood, so we can wear it with pride,” he said.

Another soldier, Rina Doroci from Mitrovica, said the training period was a source of motivation not to give up.

“It feels amazing to be part of the Kosovo Security Force. I had a great experience during basic training—our instructors gave us the motivation and support we needed not to give up,” she said.

Among the new soldiers sworn in today was Brahim Koca, the son of war veteran Vesel Koca, who expressed his pride in his son’s decision to serve the homeland.

“It’s very emotional. I wish him and all his fellow soldiers success, good fortune, and health as they serve the country. I’m a war veteran—my father was killed during the war. Thankfully, my son passed the tests and was accepted,” he said.

At the certification ceremony for the new Kosovo Security Force recruits, commendations were also awarded to outstanding recruits, instructors, and lieutenants.

In March, the first generation of recruits for this year, totaling 344 soldiers, also took their oaths.
