The Hydrometeorological Institute of Kosovo predicts that today (Monday) will be sunny and partly cloudy, cloudiness in the first part of the day may bring short-term rain in some places.

Minimum temperatures will range between 12-15 degrees Celsius, while daytime maximums are forecast to range between 24-28 degrees Celsius.

The institute has announced that this week will be mostly hot, but it is ending a month with extremely high average maximum temperatures and it is calculated that this July will be the hottest month of Julys since professional meteorological measurements began (1854 England in KJU laboratory).

Due to the high temperatures, the UV index will also be high, therefore it is appealed to respect the advice of IKSHP, while IHMK called on citizens not to light fires, because apart from damages in the field of agriculture and other consequences, fires are also sources of the risk of our properties, health and people in particular.

According to the Institute, climate change is happening faster than the predictions of scientists of powerful meteorological agencies and now the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is more urgent than ever before.

"This month with these extreme temperatures has not only covered Europe but three continents (North America, Asia and Europe). The average global temperature was 16.63 in 2019, while it has now reached 17.08 degrees Celsius, which is considered a record increase," the announcement states.
