Ancelotti brings his son's friend from the third English league as an assistant
Carlo Ancelotti (65) will add an assistant coach to his staff at English third division Stockport County. It is about 38-year-old Andy Magnan, who has been officiating at over 300 games in the third, fourth and fifth tiers of English football. Magnan is a former striker who ended his playing career in 2018. He made 425 appearances, scored 118 goals and represented ten clubs. The highest level Mangan played in was the third division, and he achieved his best season in the third tier in 2015/16. with Shrewsbury Town - scored five goals in 19 games. English media reports that Mangan is close friends with Davide Ancelotti (35), the son of Carlo Ancelotti, who is also part of the Real Madrid staff. Both have received their coaching licenses together, so in addition to being friends, they are also former schoolmates. Once Mangan receives his work permit for Spain, he will join Real's professional team. It is also reported that Davide Ancelotti plans to take over the role of coach after his father's retirement and already sees Mangan as his first assistant. On the other hand, Carlo Ancelotti appreciates the structure of the English coaching staff, where each coach specializes in a certain aspect of the game, which is said to be another reason for the new English coach's commitment.
