Today, it has been announced that electricity tariffs will increase by 15 percent; however, the Energy Regulatory Office (ZRrE) has stated that the decision is expected to be made on April 11.

The Chairman of the Board of the ZRrE, Ymer Fejzullahu, has denied that a decision has been made regarding electricity tariffs, stating that the current tariffs remain in effect. "The decision is expected to be made on April 11. Depending on the Board's decision, they could come into effect retroactively from April 1 or from May 1, when the billing period starts, because it wouldn't make sense to implement this in the middle of the month," said Fejzullahu to KosovaPress, adding that they are currently reviewing the comments submitted by institutions and others.

"We declared that the review would take up to two weeks, but it may take longer," he stated. The increase in electricity prices has triggered significant reactions and dissatisfaction among citizens, businesses, and the presidency. However, the Government of Kosovo has not yet commented or responded to the announced increase. Due to the dissatisfaction, a protest is scheduled for April 5 in Pristina, KosovaPress reports.

Meanwhile, the change of time that occurred on March 30, 2025, has also changed the schedule for the lower tariff of electricity. KESCO has announced that this schedule will be valid from today until September 30.

The lower tariff during this period will be from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM. This change is part of the application of the summer tariff, allowing consumers to save more during specific hours of the night.
