The second nominee of the Serbian List, MP Zlatan Elek did not receive enough votes to be elected Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo. He failed to secure the necessary votes for this position even after three consecutive rounds of voting.

Against Elek, MPs from the Vetëvendosje Movement and some MPs from non-majority minorities voted, while other parties abstained.

In the Serbian List’s second nomination for Deputy Speaker, Elek received nine votes in favor, 53 against, and 41 abstentions.

“Nine votes in favor, 53 against, and 41 abstentions; consequently, for the third time, he did not receive enough votes to be elected Deputy Speaker,” said the Assembly Speaker, Glauk Konjufca.

It is worth noting that on October 8, the Constitutional Court published the full ruling following the Serbian List’s appeal regarding the constitution of the Assembly. The Court stated that the Assembly is not yet constituted and gave MPs a 12-day deadline to complete the constitution process. The 12-day period started from the day the full ruling was published on the court’s official website—October 8.
