Fatmire Mulhaxha-Kollçaku, a lawmaker from Lëvizja Vetëvendosje, has called on opposition parties to take part in the session for the election of the president.
Shortly before the start of the session, the majority MP accused opposition lawmakers in the Assembly lobby of remaining comfortable and staying outside the parliamentary premises.
“We invite everyone to come, this is the place, not outside... The quorum is achieved with their presence. Come here — who are they accusing, us who are here or those who are comfortably resting and staying in places where they should not be, since they are not paid for that. They were not elected to stay outside this institution. Who is preventing the quorum? Who is pushing the country toward elections?” she said.
She also said that presidential candidate Feride Rushiti was not present in the plenary hall because she had experienced a death in the family.
