The Basic Prosecution in Prishtina has announced that it has authorized the Kosovo Police, specifically the Directorate for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption, to collect evidence regarding suspicions of criminal offenses under Chapter XVIII of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo (CCRK), related to voting rights.

According to the announcement, during the vote counting process in the municipality of Podujevë, irregularities are suspected, specifically discrepancies in the number of votes for candidates for deputies in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo after the counting was completed.

The Basic Prosecution in Prishtina and the Kosovo Police have emphasized that they remain committed to fighting crime, strengthening the rule of law, and bringing to justice all those who violate the law.

It is recalled that investigations have previously taken place in Prizren, Malishevë, and in the Mitrovica region.
