Vasfije Krasniqi-Goodman, known as the voice of survivors of sexual violence during the Kosovo war, has been involved in a project by activist Jadwiga Bronte featured in the prestigious magazine Vogue.

The project, called “Talking About Rape,” includes photographs of hundreds of women from different countries around the world who have been sexually assaulted.

Vasfije Krasniqi was one of the first women in Kosovo to publicly share that she was sexually assaulted by Serbian forces in 1999.

She is the voice of survivors, seeking justice.

Vasfije Krasniqi has also been honored with the title “Distinguished Citizen of the Republic of Kosovo.”

The exact number of people who were sexually assaulted during the last war in Kosovo is unknown, but reports estimate around 20,000.

So far, only Zoran Vukotiq has been convicted by local courts for sexual violence during the last war in Kosovo.
