US suspends strategic dialogue with Kosovo
The United States of America (USA) has indefinitely suspended the strategic dialogue with Kosovo.
In the Embassy’s announcement on Facebook, it is stated that this is due to the actions of the Government of Kosovo.
“
The United States has indefinitely suspended the planned strategic dialogue with Kosovo due to concerns over the actions of the current government, which have increased tensions and instability, limiting the United States’ ability to work productively with Kosovo on shared priorities,” the Embassy’s announcement says.
The Embassy said on Friday that the U.S. remains committed to advancing shared interests.
“We remain committed to advancing the shared interests of the United States and the people of Kosovo. Our relationship with Kosovo is based on a common goal: strengthening peace and stability as the foundation for mutual economic prosperity. Unfortunately, the recent actions and statements of caretaker Prime Minister Kurti have posed challenges to the progress achieved over many years.”
