The Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) has announced that the unit A3 of the “Kosova A” Thermal Power Plant is currently out of operation for electricity production.
KEK spokesperson Skënder Bucolli confirmed this to KosovaPress, emphasizing that electricity production and supply continue uninterrupted despite the situation with Unit A3, which has been under maintenance since October 31.
“The Kosovo Energy Corporation informs that today, December 8, 2025, operations are continuing with Unit A4 of TC Kosova A and Units B1 and B2 of TC Kosova B, with a total production capacity of 14,640 MWh,” Bucolli stated.
He added that Unit A3, which has been under maintenance since October 31, was found to require additional technical interventions and repairs after being restarted earlier this week.“It is important to note that Unit A3 has been under maintenance since October 31, and after its restart, the need for additional technical interventions and repairs was identified during this week. However, the electricity output from this unit has been compensated, and according to KEK’s scheduled plan, there is no shortfall in electricity production,” Bucolli added.
As the winter season approaches, electricity demand has also increased.
